There is More to Air Bag Suspension Compressor Kits Than Meets the Eye

More than meets the eye? Yes, because you can’t literally see much of an air ride suspension kit. Perhaps a better expression would be there is more to it than many people think. To illustrate the point, let’s look at three names for the apparatus.

Air bags suspension. It’s a way of putting suspension into a vehicle – a way of cushioning the occupants from the vagaries and imperfections of the road surface. Even on a good, well-maintained city street, there are bumps and lumps. Manhole covers that are not quite flush, debris created by the traffic, and even litter abandoned by thoughtless people who may not intend to inconvenience motorists but who manage it anyway.

Air shock kit. The suspension is there to deal with what might be called shock: the impact of these road surface imperfections which are not absorbed by the tires.

Air Bag Lift Kit. Here is another side of it, focusing on altering the height of the body of the car in relation to the wheels. An air lift air suspension kit can raise (or lower) that height, so you can go for a lower profile if you’re going to the fast, sporty look, or a higher stance for greater comfort and keeping the flying debris away from the undercarriage.

In addition, there is the question of balance. A good air suspension kit makes sure your vehicle remains level at all times. Put a load of, say, bricks and timber in the back for a maintenance job at home, and with conventional suspension the rear end goes down under the weight, and the front is not applied to the road as it should be. Air bag suspension compressor kit redistributes the weight, adjusting each bag to what is required for equilibrium. It’s the same deal when you are towing a trailer.

Is There a Universal Air Bag Suspension Kit?

Something as fundamental as this need not be complicated by the idiosyncrasies of particular marques. Many cars are basically the same, and with a universal air suspension kit the advantages of the system can be enjoyed by everyone.
